Are there alternatives to dental anesthetics

Q: is there a alternative product that could be used in place of anesthetics at the dentist office? I have a crushed immune sysem due to mercury poisoning and am looking for herbal products or other products to replace a shot of novocaine, lydecaine, or other anesthetics. THe only thong I am aware of is maybe a shot of whiskey, that was used in the frontier days.
